ST MICHAEL PLAYHOUSE is the first Waldorf/Steiner-inspired daycare in the country, and the only one in Makati City. Waldorf education offers unhurried education for the whole child – mind, hands and heart.
ST MICHAEL PLAYHOUSE is tucked in a quite street in Makati City, near the Rockwell community. On Mondays you may see a Dad preparing the morning snack while his son plays, or a mom making toys. On other weekdays you'll find the smiling face of a Nurturer holding a puppet or doll as she recites a cheerful story to the children, or mindfully watches them as they engage in free play or painting. Each day follows a rhythm of gentle activities, balanced in a manner so as not to be dull for the child, nor overstimulating. ST MICHAEL PLAYHOUSE addresses the needs of working parents who would like to give their young child a sound, safe, holistic, home away from home.
The Parent-Child program, with classes every Monday, is for children from a little under a year old to 2 - 3 years old, accompanied by a parent. Guided by an experienced Waldorf/Steiner-trained teacher, the Parent-Child program allows very young children to play and interact with others, while having the security of their parents nearby.
The Daycare program is for children minimum 2 years old to 4 years 4 months old. For parents who both work, or moms who need to nurture and bond with a newborn, the Daycare provides a sweet space for children to be raised consciously, in a healthy and peaceful setting. A home away from home.
